PROVIDING CARE, GROWING HOPE
In our local community and state
We have been offering services to our community for the last 15 years, partnering to see it thrive and prosper while bringing solutions and practical support.
Our heart is to see our community empowered, healthy, and grow.
HEAVEN'S KITCHEN
Feeding our community, connecting the disadvantaged
Heavens Kitchen operates from the Community Hub at the Don Centre 100 Don Rd, Devonport.
Contact us through Heaven's Kitchen's Facebook page to stay up to date with dates and times.
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Our weekly program Heavens Kitchen (HK) feeds approx.
80-100 vulnerable, marginalized, and disadvantaged
people in our community.
The restaurant-style atmosphere provides a three-course meal in a friendly safe environment where they have access to good, nutritious healthy food. Heavens Kitchen is using food as a social link and connection point meeting the needs of people in our community who are often isolated, alone and undernourished.
Sharing a meal together provides not only nutrition for the body but also provides social opportunities.
To connect in an informal safe environment where you are accepted and cared for, a place to belong and form family connections. Many of our participants are experiencing genuine hunger due to difficult life circumstances such as mental health, homeliness, and disability.
As Heavens Kitchen participants grow in confidence and skills they are given the opportunity to volunteer
in our catering kitchen in preparation of the weekly meal to our community each Wednesday evening.
This opportunity can also lead to a pathway of possible employment.
Emergency food relief is also offered on a regular basis for those in crisis need.

CONNECTING COMMUNITIES

Heaven's Care aims to support every woman and family following the premature loss of their infant.
This is done practically by providing beautiful thoughtful coffins created and inspired by Esther 'Positioned for such a time as this', never to walk beside her parents but forever carried in their hearts. The coffins are made as a gift to take and use in any way the family feels may bring comfort and offer hope through this time.

We develop relationships and partnerships with Community Services Organisations who are making a difference in our community.
Partnerships include:
Mission Australia
Glenhaven Family Care
Community Houses
CAP
Local Schools

The Rumpus Youth mission is to “Transform the future of a generation” and our purpose is to give the next generation every opportunity of becoming all they can be. In a generation that is confronted consistently with opportunities for living a damaging lifestyle, Rumpus provides the opportunity for a safe, fun, alcohol and drug free environment where young people can hang out and be involved in positive challenges, activities and leadership development. Every Friday night some 150 young people bus in from surrounding towns for our weekly event. Other activities include our Lunch Support, Strength and Shine self- esteem and skill development programs in schools.

White Butterfly is an annual Memorial Service for Remembrance of Pregnancy & Child loss.
We understand that sometimes we need someone to simply be there ... not to fix anything or do anything in particular but just to let us feel we are supported.
Please contact us to find out the next White Butterfly date.

A Community transformation project where we will bring blessing to a community service organisation with a makeover or renovation. We have recently had a team work with the community with a makeover of the SPACE School building. It was great work as a team with other trades people to see this area transformed with a new coat of paint, new furniture and fresh realised work spaces. This fresh new building has provided students with a wonderful place to meet and work on their school activities. This environment helps students to feel valued and supported in their education.

Welcome!
We hope you feel like you belong here at Embrace. We endeavor to have a room full of kindness, to help each person to discover a reason to believe in themselves and others, and to become the amazing mum you were created to be!
Our mornings are free, relaxed, full of chats and a place for your little ones to play.
We meet at the Community Hub, from 10am-11am but feel free to come in and go when you need.
We can’t wait to meet you!

The focus is to give families and individuals in our local community, who are going through a tough season a Care Pack or Christmas Hamper.
Our heart is to support, encourage and lavish a little on these people.
A Care Pack in a time of need can bring encouragement and joy in a hard situation.
A Christmas Food Hamper can enable a family to celebrate and enjoy time together around a Christmas meal.

Gateway Community Care financially supports Chaplaincy programs in our local schools. We provide student mentors who work one on one with children and young people.
We also provide Mentors for the The Easy P’s Learner Driver Mentor program which helps students obtain their Provisional Driver’s License, where they would otherwise have no access to a suitable vehicle or their own supervisory driver.
